Hey guys, a lot will know that I love Easel Cards and equally love Shaker Cards, so, I decided to combine the two and make these Loaded Shaker Easel Cards.
I could make shaker cards all day I just love the effect and movement you get with them.
I love really filling them with sequins to give this loaded look.
For the stopper, I kept it simple with a large rectangle shape but I added these large flowers which I think work really well with the “Day of the Dead” themed papers.
It’s a 6 x 6 card and folds flat in an envelope.
To make these cards you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 6″ card for your card base, score along the 12″ side at 6″ and 9″ alternatively you can use a pre-made 6 x 6 card base and just add the 9″ score line.
1 piece of 6″ x 6″ card for your main shaker part.
1 piece of 5.3/4 x 5.3/4 pattern paper for your frame.
I used the “Fiesta Fever” paper pack from First Edition.
1 piece of 5.3/4 x 5.3/4 pattern paper to mat the inside.
1 piece of 5.1/2 x 5.1/2 pattern paper for the inside of your shaker part.
1 piece of 5.1/2 x 5.1/2 acetate.
1 piece of 5.1/2 x 2.3/4 white card for your stopper part.
1 piece of 5.1/4 x 2.1/2 pattern paper to layer on top of the white card.
Flowers and embellishments to decorate your card.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
As I mention in my tutorial you can add any size or shape topper to your easel card, I do however love this full-sized topper as it gives you a large area to decorate.
Go give it a go, I’m sure you will enjoy making them as much as I do.
Happy crafting.
