For this weeks Hobbybase card I made these cute Christmas tree window cards.
I used the versatile Hobbybase Vintage Window die.
I originally made this card using a 6″ x 6″ card base, however, it wasn’t until after that I thought this style worked better on a taller card like an A6 or 5″ x 7″
Below is the “6 x “6 card, I think the foliage I used is too big and there is too much blank space.
Below is the A6 size with smaller foliage, I think this looks much much better and more balanced.
The stamp I used was from an of Christmas set, free with Creative Stamping magazine along with the sentiment.
I coloured it all in with my Crawford & Black colour pencils and added a gold star on the top.
The foliage on the bottom of the window and bow add dimension and texture and finish the card off perfectly.
Check out my full tutorial below.
There are so many fun ways to adapt this card, you can add a sheet of acetate behind the window frame to give it some shine and look more like a glass window, you can also turn it into a shaker card and add fake snow inside, this was suggested today from one of my followers and I think it’s a fab idea.
I’ve also shared below an Easy Diorama card I made using the same window die. How cute would this look with a Christmas tree stamped inside?
I hope you like this Christmas card from me today.
Thank you for stopping by.
