Hi everyone, earlier today I shared another fold flat gift bag.
I’ve been making lots lately, preparing for Christmas.
These Christmas Tree gift bags measure 12″ x 4″ making them perfect for all of those larger gifts.
I love making gift bags and I’m always looking for ways to make them look different.
I decided on a more contemporary look for this bag and cut a simple triangle to look like a Christmas Tree.
I used my 1″ square punch to create some mini presents either side of the tree and I die cut 2 stars from mirrored cardstock for the topper on my tree and also to fasten the gift bag.
I love recycling my shopping bag handles and was very excited when I saw these lovely silver handles on the paper bag my new Yankee Candle came in.
I made a matching gift tag and finished it with a cute little bow.
The papers used are from the First Edition “Jolly Holidays” 12″ x 12″ paper pack.
To make this gift bag you will need…
2 pieces of 12″ x 12″ cardstock for the front and back of your gift bag.
Score both pieces at 4″ this will form your base, if you want the gift bag top fold flat you will need to score one of the pieces at 6″. So one will be scored at 4″ & 6″ and the other just at 4″
2 pieces of 5″ x 10″ Score along the 5″ side at 1/2″ & 4.1/2, then score along the 10″ side at 4″, if you want it to fold flat you also need to score at 6″. Rotate the cardstock back again and score along the 5″ side at 2.1/2 just down to the first score line.
1 piece of 5″ x 8″ pattern paper for your Christmas Tree decoration.
1 piece of 2″ x 5.1/2 cardstock for your fastening.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made it.
All of my gift bags fold flat, that way I can keep making lots of styles and store them away neatly until I need them.
Thank you for popping by today.
