Hi everyone, I’ve been a busy bee making a tone of Christmas Crackers!
As a family, we love pulling crackers and over the years we have had all sorts hidden in them! The fun part is when the gift comes shooting out and falls in your dinner or hits someone in the face! hehe.
We use them from Christmas Eve through to Boxing Day.
These quick and simple crackers are very easy to make and require no special dies or templates.
If you haven’t heard of Christmas Crackers before or would like to know more about the history of them click on the link below.
The History of the Christmas Cracker!
I used the First Edition “Jolly Holidays” papers by Trimcraft.
I’ve kept these plain however you can decorate them more and personalise them for each individual.
To make these you will need…
1 piece of 6″ x 12″ pattern paper/cardstock
Score along the long side at 3″, 3.1/2 & 4″ and 8″, 8.1/2 & 9″
Score along the short side at 5.3/4
Ribbon to decorate.
I got the snaps from Hobbycraft last year but you can also find them on Amazon along with the paper hats, gifts and jokes. I’ve shared all the links below.
Check out my full tutorial below to see how I made them.
These are the most common size, but you can easily shorten them.
Below is my tutorial for the ones I made last year for more inspiration.
I hope you enjoyed these fun Christmas Crackers, I love this little British tradition and couldn’t imagine my Christmas without them.
These are now sitting nicely by the tree ready for the festivities.
Have a wonderful day.
Happy Crafting
Sam
