Hey everyone, today I have a project which I have been holding off for a long time. Sometimes I make something and then I’m not sure if I should make a tutorial or if it will be well received!
So here we go, these are my Faceted Christmas Tree Gift Boxes.
I’ve had this idea since last years workshop but I’ve been re-visiting it every few months and altering bits and changing measurements.
I made these mini versions above which use 1 piece of A4 cardstock and the ones below use 2 pieces of A4 cardstock.
These are actually quite roomy as the expand when you bring the tops altogether. The mini ones will make perfect table favours or to hold that special piece of jewellery.
I made the red cubes functional and can be used as another gift box.
To make both sizes you will need…
For the large tree
2 pieces of 8.1/4 x A4 length or 11″ letter paper length for the main tree shape.
Score along the short side at 2″ & 8″, rotate your card and score at 2″, then rotate back and score at 1″ & 5″ just down to 7.1/2. Do this on both pieces.
Please use my template and video below for reference when scoring the other lines.
1 piece of 8.1/4 x 6.1/2 cardstock for the box or cube. Score along the longer side at 2″, 4″, 6″ & 8″ then rotate and score at 2″, 4″ & 6″
Silver cardstock for the stars. I use the Dovecraft Mirrored card available from Amazon.
Star dies and a peg for the closure.
For the small tree
1 piece of 8.1/4 x A4 length or 11″ letter paper length for the main tree shape.
Score along the longer side at 1.1/2, 5″, 6.1/2 & 10. Rotate and score at 1.1/2, then rotate back and score at 3/4″, 3.1/4, 5.3/4 & 8.1/4 just down to the 5″ marker.
Please use my template and video below for reference when scoring the other lines.
1 piece of 6.1/4 x 5″ cardstock for the box or cube. Score along the longer side at 1.1/2, 3″, 4.1/2 & 6″. Rotate and score at 1.1/2, 3″ & 4.1/2
The same mirror card, dies, and peg as above.
Check out my full tutorial below.
These mini ones will be used on our Christmas table this year as place names with a little gift inside.
Hopefully, you still have time to make these and remember if you do please share your makes over on my Facebook group Mixed Up Crafters.
Thank you for stopping by.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Oh Sam, these are stunning! Never doubt your own creativity 🙂 Best, Jutta
Oh my, I love these boxes! I can’t way to try them, thank you so much for sharing your talent!
Brilliant tutorial my Christmas tree box is now waiting to be filled. I threaded a silver thread through all the tops, this means the box does not pop open too early. The star then stays in place.
Happy Christmas I look forward to your next demo.
Genius! ~Thank you
Thank you 🙂
As always, another superb video
