Hi everyone, today I have these gorgeous Dancing Fairy Music Style Boxes.

I was inspired to make these from the “Fairy Tale” collection itself as it reminded me of a musical jewellery box I had as a little girl. When you opened it a fairy span around to the music that played. Mine was blue and white and I loved it.

When I saw this beautiful collection I knew I needed to recreate the music box.

This box will work well for a boy and you could have their favourite toy or hobby popping up.

I loved decorating the lid using so much of the collection, the butterflies and sparkle are just stunning.

To make these stunning boxes you will need…

Base card sizes

1 piece of 10.1/2 x 12″ cardstock for your base.

Score along the 10.1/2 side at 3.1/2 & 7″

Score along the 12″ side at 3.1/2 & 8.1/2

1 piece of 7.1/2 x 9″ for your lid.

Score along the 9″ side at 1″, 2″, 7″ & 8″

Score along the 7.1/2 side at 1″, 2″, 5.1/2 & 6.1/2

1 piece of 4.1/2 x 6″ for the inside piece (optional).

Score along the 6″ side at 1/2″ & 5.1/2

Score along the 4.1/2 side at 1/4″, 3/4″ & 4.1/4

1 piece of 1.1/2 x 12″ for the inside closure.

Mats & Layers

2 pieces of 4.3/4 x 3.1.4 coloured paper for your front and back mats.

2 pieces of 4.1/2 x 3″ coloured paper to layer onto your front and back mats.

2 pieces of 3.1/4 x 3.1/4 pattern paper for your smaller side mats.

2 pieces of 3″ x 3″ pattern paper to layer onto your smaller side mats.

4 pieces of 7/8″ x 4.7/8 glitter card to mat the longer inside and outside sides of your lid.

4 pieces of 7/8″ x 3.3/8 glitter card to mat the shorter inside and outside sides of your lid.

1 piece of 4.7/8 x 3.3/8 coloured paper to mat the top of your lid.

1 piece of 3.1/8 x 4.5/8 pattern paper to layer onto the mat for your lid.

1 piece of 4.3/4 x 3.1/4 coloured paper for the inside of your lid.

1 piece of 4.1/2 x 3″ pattern paper to layer the inside of your lid.

To decorate the inside extra section you need 1 piece of 3/8″ x 4.3/4 pattern paper and one 1 piece of 4.3/4 x 3.1/4 pattern paper.

You will need the same size mats and layers to decorate the inside of your box.

Extras

4″ ribbon

1/2″ x 4″ strong acetate.

Oval or rectangle dies for your mirror.

The Dovecraft fairy die.
