Unusual Drawstring Gift Bag

Hi everyone, I’m back with #2 of my Gift bag Series.

This Drawstring style bag is inspired by a Cartier version from the 1930’s! Of course mine isn’t made of Antelope skin and gilded eighteen-karat gold like that one, but I think it still looks lovely.

 I made 2 styles and give you the measurements to the smaller version below.

                 

I love the accordion sides on these bags.

And although they are gathered at the top, they are surprisingly spacious inside.

The tassels and eyelet hardware finish the bag off perfectly.

SUPPLIES USED TO MAKE THESE GIFT BAGS

MEASUREMENTS NEEDED TO MAKE THESE GIFT BAGS

For the larger version

2 pieces of 12′ x 12′ cardstock.

Score along one side at every 1′

Score along the other side at 4′

2 pieces of 4′ x 8′ card for the front and back.

                                 20 strips of 3/4′ x 7.3/4 to cover the concertina sides (optional)
 
                                                                    For the smaller version

2 pieces of 10′ x 9′  cardstock.

Score along the 10′ side at every 1′

Score along the 9′ side at 6′

2 pieces of 3′ x 6′ card for the front and back.

                     2 pieces of 5.3/4 x 2.3/4 pattern paper top decorate the front and back.
